Just about every comics fan knows about the infamous clone saga era in Spider-Man history that started in 1994. But even a year or so before the arrival of Peter Parker’s clone Ben Reilly, the powers that be at Marvel Comics attempted to give Spider-Man a “dark” makeover and portray the character closer to DC Comics Batman whose books were beating Marvel in sales numbers thanks to the Knightfall saga.
Spider-Man and His Amazing Frenemies
Not only has Spider-Man battled everything from common muggers to cosmic level threats with just about every hero from the Marvel Universe, but I believe he also has the greatest number of enemies who have reformed and become heroes (or anti-heroes anyway).
Spider-Man: Back In Black, Again
Will Spider-Man be wearing just another cloth version of the suit or will it be an alien symbiote, which he rejected in the past after learning of it’s true nature? The majority of the times Spider-Man has worn the black suit it has been during times of great stress or darkness.
Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man
The Road to 300. A comic book milestone is just around the corner. Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man will release it’s 300th issue in February.

Spider-Man: The Dan Slott Years
Rumors have been circulating that long time Amazing Spider-Man writer Dan Slott will soon be ending his almost ten year run on Amazing Spider-Man. While Slott has been denying the rumor for awhile, the March 2018 solicit for Amazing Spider-Man #797 states that “Dan Slott has saved his most harrowing Spider-Man story for last…” and even the title of the story arc seems to play at the writer’s departure, named “Go Down Swinging”.
Marvel and DC Comics Happy Holidays

Brian Michael Bendis: The Marvel Years
This past week the BIG news hit the internet: long time and prolific Marvel Comics writer Brian Michael Bendis announced his upcoming departure from Marvel Comics when he signed a contract with rival DC Comics.
When you think about the man and his career, he has influenced much of what Marvel has done in the last 2 decades.
Peter David (Legend of Comics)
This week we get the honor of talking to Peter David, who has written many classic characters and stories in comics and novels.
I figured I could talk about just a few of the man’s many comic book writingaccomplishments here before the interview.
Marvel Legacy (How Marvel Can Become Number One In The Hearts Of Fans Again)
This month, Marvel starts the process of returning many of their classic characters and elements back into their comics.
While many have debated if perhaps the trend of introducing new characters in the guises of original heroes is the main factor in slumping sales, Marvel has promised Legacy will bring back many classic elements (and issue numbering) while still satisfying the fans of the new generation of characters.
